School's cool. Go to a local high school, college or university event together, such as a homecoming game, art show or musical event. Although not all will be free, some sleuthing will find the ones that are.
Outdoors. Let's go to a park or go for a walk. Let's just talk. Enjoy the scene. Explore. How about stargazing? Ha... That's if we can even find stars in the city sky. It could be very romantic...

Taking a walk around a mall or an open place and just talk, eat dinner.. I just like being with my date, the details aren't really that important for me ..not as much, really, because my date comes first.

Than on the other hand... to skydive for a first date or watch an football match... why not? Would be something new and fun to do :D
Hm. . . . I think I would start with a coffee date, then after the first date I would take the person to the park with a picnic and we would watch the stars and talk.
